Played a cursed flute that took him to a realm of trials, where he sadly perished.

Obituary:

After finding an ancient flute of the old, long dead ranger with a strong wit who once kept peace among the forests, he eagerly attuned himself to it and played a tune. Upon doing this, it showed itself to be cursed. It brought Elrin to a realm of trials created by the ancient ranger, which he sadly failed. His spirit remains in the realm, but his mortal body was left to decay in the real world.
