Obituary:

Oscar's peaceful life at home ended abruptly when he was forced to take a prototype handgun and flee, lest he be sacrificed.

He continued his research, which eventually led him to meeting several other adventurers. Together they defeated a lich and were hired by the vampire Count Lazarus. It was while in his service that Oscar and his companions found themselves in the realm of Orcus himself. Oscar and one of his companions were overcome by an undeniable curiosity and marched straight into the throneroom of the Demon Lord of Death, and were promptly turned to ghouls.
